David Bowie’s widow Iman made her first public appearance since the rocker’s January (16) death on Wednesday night (07Sep16).

The Life on Mars singer lost his battle with cancer on 10 January (16), just two days after his 69th birthday. Bar several Instagram posts and day-to-day outings, Iman has been keeping a low profile since losing the love of her life.

But on Wednesday, she chose Tom Ford’s New York Fashion Week show as the perfect setting to make her comeback into the public arena.

The 61-year-old former model looked stunning in a midnight blue velvet trouser suit as she arrived for the occasion, before joining stars including Anna Wintour, Julianne Moore, Zayn Malik, Neil Patrick Harris, Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson, Rita Ora and Naomi Campbell to watch the presentation.

Iman later took to Twitter to thank the designer for such an incredible evening, writing: “Thanks @TOMFORD for an intimate/glam presentation for my first night out since last year #TomFord.”

She later added: “Thanks to my loyal friends that are beyond my beauty team @PorscheFabulous @OscarJamesHair who made this possible.”

Bowie and Iman met in October, 1990 and wed in Tuscany, Italy in 1992.

Iman gave birth to the couple’s only child together, daughter Alexandria ‘Lexi’ Zahra Jones, in 2000, while the Starman hitmaker was also dad to filmmaker son Duncan, from his first marriage to Angie Bowie.

Following his tragic passing, Iman used her Instagram page to post a moving tribute to her late spouse on what would have been their 24th wedding anniversary in June (16).

Alongside a picture of a couple embracing on a beach emblazoned with the words “The best thing about me is you”, Iman wrote: “June 6th…., 24th wedding anniversary #foreverlove (sic).”
